Showcase Plan Revised

Thinking about hosting a large showcase, may be something for a few years time and not at the start of my career. Realistically, it will cost too much and there is no guarantee of it offering me more clients/work. Although I do think it’s a great opportunity for florists to come together and be recognised!

In the near future, it would be good to focus on what I am already selling as part of my business. This is dried flower wreaths and arrangements. My plan is to attend craft and farmers markets this year. Doing these markets, will be a good indicator to gauge interest and can allow people to place orders. It would be a good starting point to trail this and see if it’s successful.
I will also continue to enter floristry competitions to build on my skills and get my name out into the industry. It also keeps me in the loop with trends and the level of design and workmanship that I need to achieve.

Within the next 3 years, I am hoping to focus more on event and wedding work. Attending wedding fairs would be a good way to promote and showcase my work to clients directly. Also, growing my social media and using marketing techniques to my advantage. Working in an event florist currently, is giving me the confidence to speak to clients and create the work myself. Speaking to and working with venues is an imprint at aspect. Gaining trust with reputable venues and vendors.
